Greetings,
My name is Chris. I’m originally from the New England area of the USA, having grown up in Portland, Maine, and graduated from a small New England university (Stonehill College) near Boston, Massachusetts, with a BA in International Relations and Russian Language & Culture.
Following graduation, I took the Cambridge CELTA course at the New York affiliate. I then embarked on teaching, first in Moscow, then in Prague, and then again in Moscow, where I have lived, taught business (PwC, Maersk Line (formerly Sea-Land), Credit Lyonnais, Teledyne Technologies Inc., Coca-Cola Amatil, EBRD, Hewlett Packard, ABB, Hungarian embassy and CFO Hotel National, among others) and general (beginner to advanced) English as well as translated and edited (LUKOIL Overseas and MDM Bank, among others) annual reports, documents and texts.
I believe that the breadth and depth of my work and life experience, particularly having studied foreign languages and lived abroad, provide me with a cross-cultural perspective and understanding of English that are invaluable to my students.
