My name is Giuliano. I am a native English speaker (born and brought up in Brighton, England) with a mixed English and Italian heritage. Most of my teaching experience has been carried out in Russia itself both in Moscow and in the Kuzbass region in Southern Siberia.
I have taught at all levels of English from pre-Intermediate upwards (and have also taught both Italian and Spanish from beginner to upper-intermediate levels) and have taught General and Business English as well as a number of exam preparation groups. I have regularly taught at a number of companies ranging from Deutsche Bank to Russian Railways, Air Sibir to Sanofi Aventis and have given classes in specialist subjects (such as Financial and Legal English). Most of my recent clients have been managers and professionals.
I use a variety of methods seeking to tailor them to the needs of the learners themselves. My training as a language teacher has been mainly in the Communicative Method (I have been given training for a TEFL certificate at the University of Brighton as well as further training at other points of my career) but use a variety of methodologies in teaching according to the individual needs of clients.
In addition to my teaching experience and training, I have a very good linguistic education having been originally trained as a translator and have myself learnt three foreign languages - Italian, Spanish and Russian. I have translated scientific, business and academic texts from these three languages into English. I have also had work published on Russian and Soviet cinema which is my other special area of knowledge (I was briefly a student at the Russian State Institute of Cinematography - VGIK and have translated substitles for a film of Elem Klimov's).
